Displayport is an upgrade from HDMI, the standard in video transmission in today’s gadgets including tablets, laptops and desktop computers. Although not used as widely as others, Displayport 1.2 is found in non-Mac machines. Not to be confused with MiniDisplayport, these have 20 Pins and are usually lockable. DisplayPort 1.2 carries video resolutions of up to 3840 by 2160 pixels at a refresh rate of 60Hz. It offers support for all common 3D video formats. These cables can also carry multichannel digital audio.
